Angelina Released Booking Photos
The Angelina County Sheriff creates frontal and right-side photographs during booking. While the person remains on the live roster, the detail view may display both images with physical description, charges, bonds, holds, and an IVSS link. Once that active entry is removed, the old page is not a reliable photo archive. A tested old detail link produced a blank shell.
The photograph documents the identity presented during a booking episode. It does not prove that a charge resulted in conviction. It also does not prove when or why the person left custody. Pair the image with the jail-register release or transfer entry and, when needed, the court disposition. A transfer to TDCJ, another county, USMS, BOP, or ICE is not community release.
Angelina Mugshot Access Channels
No single system covers every released person. Choose by custodian and whether the record is active.
| Channel | Photo access | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Angelina live roster | Front and right images may appear in active detail. | Not a post-release archive. |
| Sheriff records request | Request named front and profile photographs. | Redactions or exceptions may apply. |
| TDCJ public systems | Some state results may expose an image. | The free information email excludes photos. |
| Texas registry | A color photo appears for registrants. | Not a general mugshot search. |
| Local news | A report may retain an arrest image. | Secondary and may omit later outcomes. |
VINELink and IVSS are status and notification tools, not guaranteed historical photo archives. Use identity fields to reach the correct custody record, then obtain the image from the proper agency.
Angelina Roster Photos Vanish
The roster is current-custody oriented. It has no official recent-release filter, release field, or dependable post-release retention period. A person may disappear after bond, time served, dismissal, sentence completion, or transfer. The image can disappear at the same time, leaving no detail page that proves the outcome.
Check the 24-Hour Release List process for same-day records, but do not expect a photo feed there. Preserve the booked name and identifying number while the active record is visible. Then request the photograph and release record. Avoid treating a live individual's detail as a permanent sample.
Request Angelina Release Mugshots
Texas Government Code Chapter 552 governs public information held by local governmental bodies, subject to exceptions. Address the request to the sheriff because the jail photograph is a sheriff record. Court clerks handle dockets and judgments through separate rules.
- Open the Angelina records portal and select the Sheriff.
- Give the full booked name, booking number if known, and approximate admission date.
- Ask for existing front and profile photographs, booking sheet, jail-register entry, booking-out sheet, and release or transfer order.
- Request electronic copies, accept a public redacted version if suitable, and seek a cost estimate.
- Keep the response with the matching court or receiving-agency record.
Mail may be sent to the Angelina County Sheriff's Office, P.O. Box 114, Lufkin, TX 75902. In-person delivery is at 2311 E. Lufkin Ave. Records staff at 936-639-8762 can help identify records, but the formal request should be written. No sheriff photo fee or fixed fulfillment time was published.
The official request page documents the historical photo fallback.

A precise request can recover the image when the live detail no longer renders it.
Angelina Mugshot Source Limits
Reputable local news may retain a photograph tied to a reported arrest or release. That image is secondary. The report may predate a dismissal, amended charge, later judgment, transfer, or expunction order. Follow its facts back to the sheriff record and the correct court docket.
Commercial aggregators can be stale, incomplete, mislabeled, or monetized. They are not proof of release and are not endorsed as an access route. A name or image match without a booking number, booking date, and agency can join the wrong person to the wrong event. Use official records to resolve identity and status.
The Texas public registry has a photo only for people with a registration duty. It is not a broad released-inmate database. Absence from it says nothing about an ordinary release.
Texas Mugshot Publication Rules
Texas Business & Commerce Code Chapter 109 does not create a blanket ban on adult booking-photo publication. It regulates covered criminal-record businesses that charge specified amounts to remove information or take value to correct it. The law includes accuracy, dispute, correction, expunction, and nondisclosure duties, plus exemptions for listed news and information services.
A covered publisher must provide a dispute contact and free verification. The statute sets an investigation period and requires prompt correction or removal when data is inaccurate. Section 109.005 addresses records known or noticed to be expunged or subject to nondisclosure. These rules do not promise automatic deletion from every independent page.
Angelina Sheriff App Is Obsolete
Historical reporting and archived metadata described an Angelina County Sheriff iOS app that promoted roster access. The present county site and app-store sweep did not identify an active official listing. No current sheriff app is therefore a supported mugshot channel.
Do not rely on an unverified app with a similar name. Use the official web roster while a booking is active, or request the photographs after removal. An obsolete app may show stale data, may no longer connect to county records, or may not be operated by the agency.
TDCJ Photos After Angelina Transfer
When an Angelina release record identifies transfer to TDCJ, the sheriff image and state offender image belong to different custody records. Start with TDCJ Inmate Search to verify the person and status. Some state materials may show an image, but TDCJ says its no-charge inmate-information email does not provide photographs.
Use the proper TDCJ public-information channel for a historical state photo. Include the full name and seven-digit TDCJ number when known. Do not use a projected date or county roster disappearance as proof that state custody ended. Confirm actual release and status separately.
Verify Angelina Photo Identity
Match the photograph to the booked name, booking number, date, agency, physical description, and charge episode. Common names and repeat bookings create risk. A photo from one arrest should not be attached to a later release without a matching chain.
- Booking photo
- An identification image made during intake.
- Disposition
- The court outcome for a charge or case.
- Expunction
- A court process that can require destruction or return of eligible records.
- Nondisclosure
- An order restricting public dissemination without being identical to expunction.
Compare the sheriff event with Odyssey. A court dismissal can explain legal authority, but the sheriff record still supplies the physical exit or transfer time.
Angelina Photo Court Orders
Release, dismissal, expunction, and nondisclosure are separate legal events. A bond release or dismissal alone does not guarantee expunction. Texas expunction law is organized in Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 55A, and eligibility turns on the case facts, outcome, waiting rules, and other statutory conditions. Government Code Chapter 411 governs orders of nondisclosure, which restrict public criminal-history dissemination but are not the same as record destruction.
Angelina County publishes an expunction service list naming local record holders, including the District Clerk, County Clerk, Sheriff, Adult Probation, justice courts, and municipal police departments. That list is useful after a court enters an order because more than one office may hold a copy or related record. The District Clerk does not provide legal advice or expunction forms.
An order should be directed through the legal process stated by the court and statute. Do not assume that a sheriff web image, state record, news story, and independent publisher will all change at once. Chapter 109 creates duties for covered publishers after notice, but its scope and exemptions still control.
Angelina Photo Record Retention
Retention and public access are not identical. The state schedule makes the jail register permanent, while the prisoner incarceration file has a release-plus-two-year period. Property receipts and bail bonds have their own schedules. A booking photograph should be requested promptly with the related booking and release documents so the identity and custody episode remain clear.
Government Code Chapter 552 does not force the sheriff to create a new photo, answer questions, or perform research. Ask for an existing image in its maintained format. The office may seek clarification, apply lawful redactions, or route a court record question to a clerk. Precise identifiers and a limited date range make the request more useful.
